چکیده

Association of Long vs StandardDetection Intervals for Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators WithHospitalizations and Costs The roleof implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) in reducing sudden and overall mortality is established.1 Recently, an ICD programming strategy that allows delayed detection of arrhythmiaswas shown to reduceunnecessary and inappropriate therapies.2,3 In this exploratory analysis of theAvoidDeliveringTherapies for Non-sustained Arrhythmias in ICD Patients III (ADVANCE III) trial, we assessed the association of programming a long-detection interval on hospitalizations, length of stay (LOS) in the hospital, and costs.

A simplified biventricular defibrillator with fixed long detection intervals reduces implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) interventions and heart failure hospitalizations in patients with non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy implanted for primary prevention: the RELEVANT [Role of long dEtection window programming in patients with LEft VentriculAr dysfunction, Non-ischemic eTiology in primary prevention treated with a biventricular ICD] study

AIMS To investigate the efficacy and safety of a cardiac resynchronization therapy with cardioverter-defibrillator (CRT-D) device with simplified ventricular tachycardia management in patients with non-ischaemic heart failure (HF) and primary prevention implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) indication. METHODS AND RESULTS Prospective, controlled, parallel, multicentre, non-randomized s...

Incidence and Costs Related to Lead Damage Occurring Within the First Year After a Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device Replacement Procedure.

BACKGROUND Inadvertent damage to leads for transvenous pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators is an important complication associated with generator-replacement procedures. We sought to estimate the incidence and costs associated with transvenous lead damage following cardiac implantable electronic device replacement. METHODS ...

Safety of Outpatient Implantation of the Implantable Cardioverter-defibrillator.

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Strategies are needed to reduce health care costs and improve patient care. The objective of our study was to analyze the safety of outpatient implantation of cardioverter-defibrillators. METHODS A retrospective study was conducted in 401 consecutive patients who received an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator between 2007 and 2012. The rate of intervention-rela...

Implantable cardioverter defibrillator specific rehabilitation improves health cost outcomes: Findings from the COPE-ICD randomized controlled trial.

OBJECTIVE The Copenhagen Outpatient ProgrammE - implantable cardioverter defibrillator (COPE-ICD) trial included patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillators in a randomized controlled trial of rehabilitation. After 6-12 months significant differences were found in favour of the rehabilitation group for exercise capacity, general and mental health. The aim of this paper is to explore t...
